Fabianne and Danni bring joy and music to Iraqi orphans

Fabianne and Danni are musicians who perform as part of a circus that entertains children traumatized by war. They have become good friends of DAI, and they are very generous with their time. When they are in Amman, DAI arranges special performances with groups of Iraqi children. Recently, they performed for a group of Iraqi orphans. Below is a letter of thanks from DAI’s Iraqi Program Coordinator.

Dear Fabianne and Danni,

Across the world, even in far distant places, there are many people working for peace, many people looking to help others. In the face of suffering, they try to do something. So we see that people go to Africa and other areas where there is a conflict.

Because of these people, smiles are drawn on many faces: children and youth, adults and old people.

Because of them, people who are suffering take hope and gain strength.

These people give so much without asking for anything for themselves.

At your performance, I saw many Iraqi orphans smiling, laughing, and singing because of Fabianne and Danni, our DAI friends who volunteer every time they have the chance to come to Jordan, just to be with children and make them happy. It touched me very deeply to watch these children enjoying themselves, forgetting about their troubles.

These Iraqi children have suffered so much trauma — losing members of their families, leaving everything behind, having the door to their future closed in their faces as they must live without education or the real psychological care they need. I believe the joy and friendship that you bring are like a healing hand to give them the power to start again.

All I can say is thank you very much. Because of you and many others like you, our world will be more peaceful, thanks to you and others who work for peace.
